The 4th May 2001, saw the first ever Football Aid event kick off at The Dell, with legends Jimmy Case and Mark Dennis captaining the teams on the day. It was a spectacular start to our first season of games - with the Away team romping home to an 8-1 victory! - and by the end of the month, 47 games had taken place at 45 Clubs across the UK, involving over 1200 players, 263 goals and controversially 1 red card! In the intervening years, our matches have made the move to the highly impressive St Mary's Stadium and have continued to feature a host of Saints greats, with the likes of Francis Benali, Jason Dodd, Gordon Watson, John Sydenham, Reuben Agboola, Dave Puckett, and Ian Juryeff all showing their support.
SEASON 2012 UPDATE
Unfortunately despite being fantastic supporters of Football Aid from 2001 to 2009 the club haven't been able to host a match in recent seasons. However we do remain hopeful that we might be able to host another event in association with the club in the future.
